London Life: Day 16

Today was another one of those days that just flew by! I don't like it. I want time to slow down, to stop. I don't want to leave London. I am not ready and don't know if I ever will be. There is so much amazingness to experience here. Today, we went to class (I ate two bananas and peanut butter during class. It's a problem) and as usual, headed home for lunch. You can probably guess what I had for lunch: tortellini! I seriously need to switch it up. Grocery shopping tomorrow for sure. Tessa and I then decided that we would join three other girls from our study abroad group and go see "A Chorus Line" at the matinee. We got to the box office thirty minutes before the show started and were able to get second row seats which are usually 85 pounds for only 19.50pounds. I would have to say we are pretty good at this cheap ticket thing. Probably just jinxed myself. great. Anyways, "A Chorus Line" was so fun. I had incredible dancing and some great voices. There was no intermission so it dragged a bit and there isn't really a story line, but there some great songs and I just can't get over how talented those dancers were. I'm so happy to have seen it. So Tessa and I forgot to take pictures with the sign in front of the theater, so we attempted to take pictures in our room later that night when we were really tired and everything was funny. It was kind of a major failure. I'll add better ones later.

^^^There are tears rolling down my face in this picture because Tessa was making me laugh so hard.

After the show, Tessa and I went to an adorable crepe cafe for dinner. We also discovered some really cute parts of London that we will be revisiting soon! The cafe was so cute, reminded me of Paris. Tessa and I both got the Strawberry and Creme crepe and it was perfection. It had strawberries, creme, and white chocolate in it. My mouth is watering thinking about it. We decided we needed to visit again and get a savory crepe next time!

When we got back to the flat, we met up with McKenzie and since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to go to Hyde PArk and rent bikes to ride around the park. Greatest decision ever made. It was so fun to ride around on the bikes and see so much of the park. Riding bikes might be my favorite thing to do, ever. It is so relaxing and freeing. I love having the wind in my hair and everything. We stopped by the Kensington Palace so I could take a picture with the Queen Victoria statue. She is my favorite. We also decided that we are going to make a day of getting dressed up in our cute tea time dresses and got to the Kensington Palace and go and get tea. Like the real deal getting tea with the scones, biscuits, and tea pots. I am so excited! We only had 30 minutes on the bikes so we had head back to the bike station. When we got back, we decided that we would sit in the park and read the play we had to read for class. We sat in a nice shandy area and I literally read the play to Tessa. It was great! My throat was killing me after only one scene. We then got cold and decided it was time to head back.

^^^My attempt at the Tessa pose!

When we got back to the flat, Tessa and I made a second dinner, me: tortellini Tessa: a fancy chicken, avocado, and cheese sandwich. I really need to get more creative with my meals. All of us went in to our room and hung out, writing papers and messing around for the rest of the night. It is so amazing to have a place to call home here in London that really feels like a home. A hotel never feels like a home so you never want to spend much time there, but our flat definitely feels like a home. I also love spending time with my crazy roommates that I love so much!

Want to hear some really exciting news?! My dad is flying in tomorrow and has a 24hour layover that he gets to spend with me. I miss him so much and am so excited to see him! I wish more than anything my mom could be with him too but I will take what I can get! I can't to show him around town and show him my favorite spots. It is going to be an incredible day!
