This morning we woke up at 7:30a.m. and got ready for class! I wore my brand new sweater from Primark, a pair of jeans, and my favorite vans my brother got me. I was feeling great and excited! I ate this awesome yogurt thing where you pour the flavor into the plain yogurt. I love British food! We walked to the church with our backpacks on our backs and arrived to find that we were locked out. One cool thing about where our class is, is that it is right by the London Imperial College! We fit right in with all the London college goers. Maybe I will find my attractive British man there ;) Anyways! We waited around for a little till finally the mission president and his wife showed up and let us in. Hallelujah! We went up to our classes' room and had a little devotional about Nephi and his brothers traveling and fighting and how that might happen with us. Love how the scriptures can relate to absolutely anything. After devotional, we started our Theater class with our proffesor, Tim. It's a British Theater class and I am so excited about it! We talked about the Dominance Theory and Storytelling. My favorite thing we talked about was that one of the reasons we tell stories (or act or watch theater, movies) is to find truth or tell our truth. That is why I act! I loved it. We then had English class with Brett and talked about Shakespeare and everything there is to know about him and we talked about Othello and a lot of cool topics with that play. I love Othello and cannot wait to see it tomorrow (Thursday May 9th). At the end of class, we got forty pounds that our director had extra and walked home. It was a great first day of class!
When we got home, we all made ourselves lunch. I made delicious ricotta and spinach tortellini with spaghetti sauce and a glass of milk! It was so nice to finally cook myself a nice little meal. We sat at our common room table and all ate lunch together. It was so nice! At lunch, we decided we wanted to see a show that night. We looked at many different shows like As You Like it in Georgian (and I don't mean the state Georgia in a southern accent, but the country Georgia in a completely different language), The Winslow Boy, and some others. We finally decided on a play called Peter and Alice with Judi Dench in it! I was so excited. Not totally sure of the storyline but it has something to do with Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland meeting. Adorable, I know.
We left the flat and headed to the Tube. We walked by Top Shop which I will definitely have to stop by. We rode the Tube (I only had one little problem at the Tube today where the machine said seek assistance but there ended up being nothing wrong, weird) to a hotel that Tessa's family stayed at so she could pick up some things. We then headed to Leicester Square to go to the Neil Cowan Theater to see if we could get student or cheaper, day-of-the-show tickets for Peter and Alice. To our sadness, we found out the show is sold out for the rest of the run, BUT we found out that every day they sell some 10pound tickets. They sell these at 10:30a.m., but the line starts forming at 6:00am. We decided we were going to do it Saturday morning! I am so excited! I'll let you know how it is. So we left the theater and found a TKTS with cheap tickets and looked at all the shows on the board. We saw so many different shows, but i finally convinced my roommates to go to The Woman In Black. Yes, I know what you are thinking. "Isn't that a movie with Daniel Radcliffe (or Harry Potter) in it?" Well the answer is YES it is a movie, BUT it is also a play and my Bishop told me I had to see it. I figured it would be a little scary but I was like "How scary can a play be?" I was so ignorant, but I will tell you about that later. After we got our tickets for only 15.50pounds I might add!, we went to a hotel that Ali and McKenzie wanted to see where I found a sweet mustache sweatshirt! After, we headed to Primark for a little shopping although I am completely false when I say 'a little.' We took the Tube over to Primark and had an amazing but rather stressful time shopping there.
Primark is an amazing store, but it is packed and I mean people every where and clothes everywhere. The amount of clothes is overwhelming. You do not know where to go first, but everywhere you look, there are cute items of clothing. I just kept grabbing things I wanted to try on, but then I found out that you could only take 8 items into the dressing room and the dressing room line was HUGE, so I could only have 8 things to try on. I put back some skirts, a shirt, and a sweatshirt and headed to the dressing room, We were lucky enough to all get dressing rooms by each other so we could show each other what we were trying on. It was so fun! I ended up only buying 5 of the 8 things I tried on: A long coral skirt, a chevron dress that actually goes past my knees!(that never happens), some cool gene pants, some freaking awesome leggings, and an adorable tea dress! I'll post pictures later when I wear them. I wanted to buy SO much more and look at so much more, but with the 8 item limit and time limit I had to resist. I mean there was a second floor for goodness sakes, but I stayed strong. I checked out and found out that I was the highest spender of the group, great. Everyone else got like two things. I missed the memo of only getting a few things. We then proceeded to head back to the flat via the Tube.
We got back to the flat with all our bags and things and made ourselves dinner. I had the rest of my tortellini and a ham and cheese sandwich like I had in Paris. It was simply delicious (sorry I like that word)! We also figured out exactly where the theater was so we would not get lost as we often do. We finished dinner, freshened up, and headed to the theater. We decided not bring our copies of The Tempest with us becasue we knew we wouldn't read on the Tube as we had tried to do earlier that day. We left a little late for the play, so we were kind of rushing and were especially worried when the Tube stopped randomly for a little. Luckily, though, we got to the theater just in time. We arrived at the theater, took a picture in front of the poster, and headed in where we excitedly got our balcony tickets upgraded to orchestra tickets! We ran to the restroom and then went to our seats. I got the seat on the aisle and was so ready for the show! I had no idea what was about to happen....
If you are planning on coming to London and seeing this show then stop reading now because their might be some spoilers in this paragraph. Going into the show I knew it would be a little scary and I thought it was only a cast of two people. From the beginning of the we met two men and I figured they were the only people in the cast. I was wrong.....so wrong. I get the hebby-jeebies typing about this play. IT WAS SO SCARY. All of a sudden in the show the men are on stage at a funeral when all of a sudden to my right, walking down the aisle a woman in a black dress with a black veil is next to me walking down the aisle. I thought I was going to cry I was so scared. I practically jumped into Ali's lap. SHE WAS NOT ON THE FLIPPIN CAST LIST! I had no idea there was a third cast member who was a creepy lady in all black that popped up randomly throughout the show. She was the ghost that haunted the main man and she played her part well. The worst thing about it that is so scary is that they did not have her bow at the end of the show. I never got to see this woman as a normal human being that was playing a part in the play. They just flashed a light on her at the back of the stage after the two men had left after their bows. I walk to cry right now because I am so creeped out by this play. I am so happy I saw it though! The acting was amazing and the way they staged it and stuff was so creative. This was a very creative piece and I was not expecting it to be like this at all. I was very impressed.
After the show, we practically ran to the Tube station and ran to our flat. We were so scared. We got back to the flat and I did not even think I was going to be able to shower because I was so scared to be alone, but I built up the courage and did it. I am in bed now and will hopefully be able to sleep. I will let you know tomorrow how it goes.

^^^This is from intermission. We were already kind of freaking out.
^^^Trying to put on a happy face after the show.
^^^ The true feelings begin to show.
^^^ And here it is. How we really felt after the scariest thing we had ever seen. Priceless. We loved every second of it though!
