London Life: Day 7

^^^I love these girls a lot and could not ask for better people to spend my time in London with!

So today we woke up (later than usual because class got pushed back 30 minutes), ate breakfast, and headed to the church building for class! We discussed "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night" and all its amazingness. We also talked about King Lear and all its okayness. Not crazy about this play. We got out of class and headed home to eat lunch. We ate and I curled my hair. We had to meet up with the group at 2:00 to go to the British Library, so we ate and got ready quickly.

We hopped on the Tube and got to the British Library! We were ten minutes late, our bad. We went down to the gallery and saw a lot of old books and such. There was Mozart, Bach, and other famous composer's first copy of their music. We also saw the Magna Carta and my favorite thing we saw was some original writings of lyrics from the Beatles! So cool! I love the Beatles and I got to see all the crazy places they would write lyrics like a children's post card and menus.

After the Library we headed to Camden Market. We walked up and down the tents of dresses, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and everything else you can think of. I found a really cute dress and tried to get the price down but couldn't get it where I wanted so I walked away. We left the tents and happened upon this band playing on the street. They are called the King's Parade and are incredible! We stood and listened to their music for a while and i even got their CD for 2 pounds. We went up and talked to them and are found out they have a concert in June that we will hopefully be able to go to. Fingers crossed!

^^^Here is a live video of them playing at the same spot that we saw them but this is from a different day.

We left Camden after stopping in a few shops. I was proud of myself, though, because I didn't buy anything in Camden and that was not easy. I knew it was too good to be true though because as we were walking down the street to our flat we stopped at a thrift store we had been wanting to go to. At this thrift store I got a pair of SWEET ankle boots, an adorable peacoat, and a pair of shorts. All of this for under 30 pounds. It was a great buy!

We got home and got ready for The Moth and the Flame concert that we were so excited for! We were especially excited becasue this is a Provo band and Scott Vance from The New Electric Sound was playing with them.

^^^If you don't know who Scott Vance is, he is the attractive man who is upside down without a shirt on.

We got all fancied up! I even put my new red lipstick on. We headed out and hopped on the Tube to Barfly where The Moth and the Flame was playing. We got to the bar and accidentally went up the wrong stairs which lead to us not having to pay to get in. It was great! We walked into a pretty small room with a stage and a bar. The opening band was still playing and they were pretty good. Can't remember what they were called. All I remember was that they were from Australia. Next, a girl named Phebe Starr got up. We were confused becasue we thought that The Moth and the Flame was next, but we were happy to have gotten to see Phebe. She was incredible. We figured out that her music is the love child of Ellie Goulding and Lana Del Rey. We even got to talk to her after the concert and she was so sweet and cool and just really fun to talk to. Here is a video of her music and a picture from the concert!

Next up was finally The Moth and the Flame! They gave such an incredible show. I am proud to say they are from Provo, Utah. Provo seriously knows how to put out some amazing musicians. It was such a fun and amazing concert! We got to talk to Scott Vance after the concert and I bought a CD. I also got to talk to the lead singer of The Moth and the Flame. Everyone was so cool and just really humble even though they are so ridiculously talented! That is how you know they are in it for their love of the music. It was such an amazing night. Here is a video of The Moth and the Flame and a picture of them from the concert.

On our way home, we were all a little hopped up on goofballs so we took some crazy pictures! We decided that we would do a little photo shoot on the Tube. It was a lot of fun since our train car only had us and two drunk girls that didn't care what we did. It was a party! We gor back to the flat and decided to make a midnight run to McDonalds. Never again. It was a good idea while we were eating but I immediately got a stomach ache when we got back. It was a great night none the less! Here are pictures from our little photo shoot.
