London Life: Day 10

My days here in London seem to be going by so fast and yet I can't believe I have only been here 10 days. It feels like I've lived here for a month. (Sorry those two sentences don't really make sense but they made sense in my mind) I'm doing my best to take advantage of every second here. I cannot let this amazing opportunity pass me by.

So today we did not have class, but we did have an early morning with the group. We had to meet as a group in front of the Globe for and exhibition and tour. My roommates have been late to group things lately, so we made sure to get there on time today. We got there ten minutes early and then found out the tour was not for another hour. The one time we were actually on time, we didn't need to be. Whatever. SO we had an hour to walk through the Exhibition. It was so interesting! It had costumes and information about all different things that had to do with Globe and acting and such. We got through that pretty quickly and then waited around for our tour. Our tour was around the Globe. Our tour guide knew so much about the Globe and everything that had to do with it. You could seriously ask any question that had to do with the Globe and he would answer it. I loved it!

^^^We might be a little in love!

After the Globe activities, we headed to the Borough Market. That is like our favorite place. We go so much. The food and everything is so delicious. We headed over with some other people in our group and our professor, Tim. He is so great! We walked around the market for a while trying to find the most delicious food for lunch. I was kind of in a pickle because my ATM card wasn't working so I had zero cash, but my amazing roommate Tessa said she would cover me. I just really love her! Always has my back. I finally decided on this potato, cheese, and pickled gherkins dish. Oh my, for a crazy cheese lover like me this dish was absolute perfection. So much cheesy goodness! I scarfed it down and really wanted a desert, but since I was lacking the money, I just walked around and got desert samples. It was great! We found this one table that had all these different kinds of jams, curd, and other spreads. I tried the All Butter Lemon, Raspberry, and Passion Fruit Curd. So much deliciousness. I will definitely be back to get those!

We finished at Borough Market and headed back to the Globe to get in the que so we could have the best spot for "The Tempest." We stood in line for about two hours, and definitely got the best seats in the house. For this show, we were groundlings meaning we stood for the entire show. My standing spot was smack dab in the center right against the stage. I rested my arms on the stage during the show. Seeing this show where we were standing was one of my coolest theater experiences. "The Tempest" at the Globe was such an incredible show. It was so simple, but I was always engaged and amazed. The acting was perfection! I don't usually like Shakespeare because I could never understand it, but I could understand every word they said. Gah! I can't get over how amazing it was. Every actor was so realistic and engaged and just incredible. I hope to be half the actor they were someday. One of the coolest experiences I had during the show was when Caliban fall on his hands and knees right in front of me and slowly turned his head and locked eyes with me. Nothing else was happening on the stage, so everyone in the audience was watching this happen. So he has locked eyes with me and slowly moved his face closer to mine. He was right up in my face and I was freaking out. This guys was so creepy looking. I did not know what to do in this situation. I just froze and stared back at him. All of a sudden when he was as close as he could get, he burped!!! Right in my face!! It was so nasty! He slowly moved back from my face and then got up and walked away. I was laughing so hard after that I started crying! This guy also used my shoulder to help him get off the stage in the middle of the show. It was such an incredible experience at the Globe! It even rained through like half the show and it was outdoors so we got soaking wet, but I still loved every second of it. We will definitely be back and hopefully I can get the exact same spot.

^^^Waiting in line!

^^^Her personal thoughts!

^^^ I just love her a lot.

^^^Our spot by the knot!

^^^My view of the stage!

^^^After the show! The rain got us a little wet, but we didn't care!

After the Globe, we headed back to the flat and had a night in. On the tube ride home, we accidentally left Janell at one of the tube stops because the door closed before she got on. Always an interesting experience on the Tube! Loving London!
