London Life: Day 33

I love Saturdays because I usually sleep in and I thankfully got to this fine morning. We woke up at 10am and decided we needed to do something with our day, so we headed to Portobello Road Market. I love that place! So much good food and shopping. It is so huge, too. I could seriously spend all day there. We walked around and got some more delicious Chicken Paella. Tessa and I shared it and it was perfection! Then McKenzie and I got cups of fresh fruit and ice cream. Yum. Seriously, today was a day of perfect food. Then we headed over to the vintage clothes and I had some amazing finds! I found an amazing brown, orange, and white vest that is pure amazingness and the best part was that it was only 5 pounds. I also went to this military vintage store and got an awesome green army button up with a sweet Paratrooper patch on it. I think my favorite part is that there is a name written on the tag so you know that this was actually worn by a British Paratrooper! So crazy. This shirt was only 5 pounds as well and the guy running the shop was so funny and nice. We talked to him for a little and then headed back to the top to meet up with Tessa. On the way we stopped at some shops and I got a vintage Panam Postcard and some vintage postcards of British Monuments. I absolutely adore everything I got today. Definitely a successful day.

^^The street performers on Portobello Road are superb!

^^I just kind of really love him....

After Portobello Road, we headed back to the flat. We sat around for a little and decided since it was such a nice day that we would go to Hyde Park to lay on the grass and read. It was so wonderful. We took a sheet with us so we could lay on it. I laid in the sun and read Pride and Prejudice. I was so content. We didn't get to stay very long. We headed back to the flat to make dinner.

^^I love the Princess Diana Memorial! They made it so kids could play in it.

We didn't have too long to make dinner so I heated up left over tortellini and we were out the door. We were seeing "Children of the Sun" and I had no idea what to expect. It was at the National Theater though so I knew it would be good. This show was so much more than good! Every actor gave a remarkable performance and there was so much truth and beauty to the story. Literally like 20 good monologues and scenes in this play. I loved every second of it. A really exciting part was at the end when they had an explosion go off in the main characters lab. It scared me so bad! I thought something had gone wrong and that the whole theater had exploded. It didn't help that I was second row. Gosh, I loved this performance. I would see it a million more times if I could! I bought the script at intermission and cannot wait to read it. After the show, we headed home and stopped at Tesco Express on the way home for milk. Tomorrow's Sunday and I am so excited! I love Sundays. They usually include a lovely time at church and a wonderful walk through Hyde Park! We will see.

^^My lovely roommates in their matching red, white, and blue outfits. Aren't they adorable!?

^^Show we saw Thursday!
