London Life: Day 31

Today was another beautiful and sunny day here in London. Perfect, I know! The weather here has been spectacular this week. We started out the day by going to Hampton Court. We met the group at the Waterloo train station and stood around for a while till we got on the train. There was an adorable dog on the train that I kept looking at and commenting on. The owners saw and happily asked "Do you want to borrow him for a little?" I said of course and they handed the adorable dog to me to play with for a little. I was so dang happy, but it made me miss my doggy, Riley, so much. I eventually had to give him back. After an hour train ride, we finally arrived at the palace. This is the palace that Henry VIII and his six wives lived in. William III later lived there as well. This place was so awesome! I have always been so interested by Henry VIII and his 6 wives, but never fully knew what exactly happened. The exhibits at Hampton Court explained the whole story. So fascinating! There is so much to know about each wife and Henry VIII. This was for sure one of my favorite historical places we have been to. The gardens were also incredible. It was like a mini Versailles! I could have spent so much more time there. It was perfection!

After napping in the grass and walking around this beautiful palace, we headed back to London. We got back in the city and headed over to the National Theater to get tickets for a show. We ended up getting great seats for "The Amen Corner." I wasn't really sure what this show was about, but was excited to see it, none the less. While on our tour of the national, I had seen the cast warming up, so I was excited to see it actually performed. Once we got our tickets, McKenzie, Tessa, and I headed to a Primark that was at Hammersmith that we heard was a lot less crowded and more organized. We got there and that is exactly what it was! It was so beautiful  We could look around without having to shove our way past people and we could just leisurely walk around. The best part was that there was hardly a line for the dressing room. We went to the dressing room twice because there was no line. It was freaking fantastic and I got some freaking fantastic clothes. For dinner, we went to this place called Tortilla and it had some pretty great burritos. We took our burritos to-go and headed to the theater. We attempted to eat our burritos politely on the tube, but that is impossible. We still dropped some rice and such and the ground and it was hilarious as we tried to hide our mouths when we were taking these big bites. It was quite an interesting experience. We got to the theater and saw that we were sitting right next to our professor Tim and his wife. That was exciting! The show was so amazing. It was set in New York and was about this African-American woman who is a pastor. It's about her struggles with her husband, son, congregation, and herself. It was so beautiful. There was gorgeous singing and beautiful moments from each actor. I really loved it and am so happy I got to see it!
^^Haha love this to-go bag!

^^Beautiful poster of this remarkable actress!

After the show we headed back to the flat. We have a big day ahead of us tomorrow! Two shows, one of which is a puppet show on a river cruise. Should be interesting!
