London Life: Day 29

Today is definitely in the top 5 for favorite days. It was so amazing! We started out the day pretty early. We woke up, got ready, made lunches, and headed to the National Rail at Blackfriar. We got there a bit early so the roommates and I took some pictures to pass the time. They are quite hilarious so enjoy! But eventually the train came so we hurried onto our favorite four seater sitting area.

^^This one might be my favorite. Of all time.

^^Tears of pure happiness.

We had a nice long train ride to look at the country side. Once we got to our destination, we got off the train and met up with George and his two brothers. George was the guy who had done the WWII fireside a previous Sunday. George and his brother lead us through the little town to an awesome abandoned Roman castle where we ate lunch. It was so amazing.

^^A little planking for you.

After lunch, we continued our walk through the town and up some dirt roads. We even crossed a bridge that also had a walk way through the water that some people took. That was hilarious! Especially when a guy on a truck drove by the walkers really fast and splashed them. We made it to the country walk and oh man, was it incredible! We walked through trees and fields of gorgeousness. We even passed horses and got to pet them and walked by a little castle. This was such a unique hike! Utah has amazing hikes but nothing like this. There was so many different things to see. We even came upon a zipline which was so fun. This was such a laid back and relaxing hike. It really made me grateful for this beautiful world we have! If you ever come to England you must take a walk through the countryside. It is breathtaking.

We finished the hike and made our way to this adorable little shop that had the most amazing ice cream and drinks! So much deliciousness. I got lemon ice cream and it was devine. I thought it was going to be a sorbet, but it wasn't! It was creamy and perfect. It was like lemon curd ice cream. I also got to try some very interesting drinks. I tried ginger beer which was exciting! Yes, exciting. It tasted amazing and burned your throat as it went down. Such a crazy sensation. I also tried Saspirilla! It tasted like cream soda with balsamic vinaigrette. That sounds weird but it was actually really good. The last drink I tried was the lemonade and it was not the lemonade you would think it would be. It was carbonated and tasted like real lemon flavor with like no sugar. It tasted more like San Pelligrino! Yum. This shop had the most interesting and delectable snacks!

On our walk back to the train, we stopped at this adorable little church with a piano in it. Carson got on the piano and we sang some hymns as a group. It was so amazing. The church was gorgeous and everyone sang so beautifully. Gah! It was an incredible time in that church. So great. We left the church after a while and headed to the train.

On the train back, we decided that we wanted to eat at Chipotle for dinner. We were so excited! I had been craving a burrito for so long. Chipotle was the perfect meal after a long hike.

After Chipotle, we headed back to the flat. Tessa said she was going to take a walk by the river and convinced me to go with her and I am so happy she did. It was such a gorgeous walk! We came out of the tube station right by Big Ben and walked across the bridge. We walked by the London Eye and through the park area by it. There were some awesome street performers by the London eye. There was magician and a man playing the tuba with fire coming out of it. We walked across another bridge to go back across the river. We stood on the bridge and looked out on the river and at Big Ben and the London Eye. It was such a gorgeous view with the sun setting. I couldn't believe I was looking out at the city I am living in right now. It was so beautiful and I just love this city so much. It is still unreal that I am living in London even if it is only for a short time. I am seriously just loving life right now.

Back at the flat, I got to google chat with all my roommates from Freshmen year! It was so fun to see and talk to them all again. I miss them so much. It's crazy to go from living with people for a year to not seeing them. They were such a huge part of my life this past year and I just love them so much. The greatest part of it was that I got to talk to Ellie before she leaves the next day. She heading to the MTC to serve the people of Canada! I am so excited to hear the amazing things she does there. After a while, Ellie had to sign off so she could finish packing and it was super late for me, so we all said goodbye. It was hard to say goodbye to them. I just wanted to talk to them all night like we used to do at the dorms. I love those girls! They will most definitely stay in my life forever. After the google chat, I tried one of McKenzie's delicious pastries and headed to bed. It was such a perfect day. I loved every second.
