London Life: Day 27

On this fabulous Sunday, I slept in till 11. It was lovely. After a week of traveling around England, it was nice to get a long, good night's sleep. When I finally woke up, I made myself some breakfast and did some homework as I usually do on Sunday mornings. Tessa and I decided that we were going to go to the Hyde Park YSA Ward because we both slept in too late for our wards. It was nice to only have to walk 10 minutes to church instead of the hour tube ride. We walked into the chapel and sat down. It was a much larger ward then I was expecting and I really enjoyed sacrament meeting. After church, Tessa and I took a nice long walk through Hyde Park. We walked around the Serpentine Lake and by the Princess Diana Memorial. We will definitely be returning to have a picnic one day. We walked through the park back to the Albert Memorial which finally had the scaffolding off of it. It is such a beautiful memorial and I especially love it after watching The Young Victoria. As I have said before, I am absolutely obsessed with Victoria and Albert so that memorial is perfection.

We walked home and made some lunch. We then all squished onto the couch and watched The Duchess. Another amazing movie that I love so much! The website we were watching it on, though, was being temperamental  so we had to pause it like a million times let it load. While we were waiting, I showed the roomies some of my favorite blogs and obsessed over the videos and adorable pictures. I love blogs. They are a great thing. When there was only like 20 minutes left of the movie, we had to leave to go to the fireside in flat 3. It was a fun fireside. We talked about our travel weeks. We each had to fill in the blanks of a sentence and share it with the group. My sentence was "It occurred to me in Cambridge that I am not that smart." The work that Cambridge students have to do is ridiculous and I would never make it. Another thought that was shared at the fireside was that people really need to slow down and appreciate everything around them. I have really been trying to do that while in London and during my travels during travel week. This is such a gorgeous world we live in and we need to appreciate it. It was a great fireside and I really enjoyed it. After the fireside, we finished The Duchess and then sat around the table to write our papers. I finally finished my paper and headed to bed. We have class tomorrow that I am not really looking forward to. It has been nice having a break from class and homework!
