London Life: Day 35

Today I realized that I really do not feel like a tourist anymore. I finally feel like I really belong in this city. It was a great realization! I love it here so much. Now this is not to say I don't miss America and all you lovely people there, but I am loving my time here in London. On this lovely Monday, we went to class and hurried ove the "The Hot House" theater to try and get day tickets. This is a popular show, so we didn't think were going to be able to get tickets, but guess what! We did! They were only 10 pounds, too. We were pretty excited. We had heard a lot of good things about this show. AFter getting our tickets, we were pretty hungry so we went to our favorite, Wagamamas. So delicious! I got my usual. When we finished our lunch we wanted something sweet so we went to a cookie store that Tessa's sister said was good and good it was! I got 4 cookies, double chocolate, triple chocolate, lemon, and orange chocolate. I have only had the double chocolate and nearly died, it was so delicious! I will let you know how the others are.

Cookies in hand, we headed back to flat for a little and then McKenzie and I went to the grocery store to get some things for Stratford. That didn't take too long and when we got back Tessa, McKenzie, and I left the flat to go the National Portrait Gallery. This is probably my new favorite museum and all it is portraits of famous people. There are so many different people with portraits here, Kate Middleton, Harry and William, the Queen, Shakespeare, Victoria and Albert, and so many more! I loved it. I got some postcards of my favorite portraits to add to my collage. If you ever come to London and can only go to one museum for some odd reason, I suggest you go to the National Portrait Gallery. You won't regret it! Here are a few of my favorites. Of course there are a million of Victoria and Albert. Don't judge. They are my favorite. Also, I don't think I was supposed to be taking pictures. I'm such a rebel!

^^Can you guess who these handsome men are?

^^You don't even want to know what this head sculpture is made of...

^^Might be one of the coolest portraits I''ve ever seen.

^^The beautiful lady herself.

^^Only statue I've seen of Albert and Victoria together and I absolutely love this beautiful sculpture!

^^You handsome man, Prince Albert.

^^Queen Victoria visiting her soldiers.

The National Portrait Gallery closed at 5:50, so we had to leave. We decided to grab some dinner before the show so we found another one of our favorites, Tortilla. We are really missing our Mexican food! Of course, I got a delicious burrito. After dinner, we needed some snacks so we stopped at Tesco Express. I got a Dr. Pepper and a freaking amazing Galaxy bar (this chocolate seriously melts like buter). McKenzie got a huge gallon thing of water because it was only 64 pence. It was a lot of water and she drank all of it! Tessa got a Coke. I love the Coke campaign they have here! On every bottle is says "Share a Coke with [insert name]." Tessa got one that said Share a Coke With Victoria. You can understand my excitement because I love Queen Victoria, so of course, I took a picture.

We headed to the The Trafalgar Studios with our delicious snacks to see "The Hot House." We had box seats which is always exciting even though you can't really see without leaning over the railing. Regardless, we were just happy to have seats. It was such an interesting production! I was so confused, but I loved it regardless. The acting was incredible and the story was very thought provoking. When the show ended, the three of us just sat in silence for like 5 minutes because we were so confused and mind blown with what had just happened. After we got our thoughts clear, we started talking and the story made a lot more sense. Sometimes you just need to talk through things. This was an absurdist piece so of course it was a little confusing. We also later found out that the guy who played Lamb, Harry Melling, also played Dudley Dursley in Harry Potter! That was so exciting! He definitely did not look like Dudley, much more attractive now, but none the less, it was him. On the way home we were on a bit of a caffeine high so we laughed the whole way home. It was so fun! We got back to the flat and had to back for Stratford. We have to be up bright and early to get on the Coach! We will see what exciting things happen in Stratford.
