I want to start with probably my biggest news! So last semester I decided to serve a mission. I put my papers in and received my call. I have been called to serve in the Hungary Budapest Mission! I leave May 21st for the Provo Missionary Training Center and will be learning the Hungarian language. Yes, I am freaking out more than you know, but am excited....but mainly freaking out. It's crazy to think that I will be gone for 18 months and won't see my friends or family. I want nothing more than to serve my Heavenly Father, though. He has done so much for me and the least I can do is try to bring others unto Him. I'm excited for this new chapter of my life.
In February, I was lucky enough to get to attend a theater conference called KCACTF in LA, California. It was such an amazing week of workshops, shows, and just plain fun. We were invited to perform the Microburst Theater Festival there, too. We did three performances and got really great feedback. I absolutely love the city! I can't wait to move there one day. The city just feels right.
^^I apologize for the creepy eyes, but I just love this cast so much and had to post this picture!
So this whole semester I have been involved in a touring show called Cymbeline. It is a Shakespeare show and we travel every Tuesday and Thursday to Elementary Schools, perform, and do a workshop with the kids. It is exhausting, but a lot of fun. I am the understudy for all of the female roles which has been quite the experience. I get to play 6 very different characters. There are two versions of the show: Fairytale and Film Noir. I play the same three characters in each show, an Evil Queen, a princess, and the narrator. It was hard learning the lines and blocking at first, but I think I have finally gotten the hang of it. Here is pictures of 4 of the parts I play.
Last, but certainly not least, I got to go on a camping trip to Moab this past weekend. I had never been to Moab before and it was so fun! We headed up Friday, had a bonfire, and slept under the stars. On Saturday, we woke up at 6am and started a great day of hiking. We saw some beautiful arches and just had a really great day. Then we headed back to Provo. It was a short trip, but I loved every second. I met some really great people and got to spend some quality time with the boyfriend and best friend.
^^Aren't we just adorable??
^^I just love this beautiful girl so very much!
^^So we ended up walking down this tunnel for like half a mile...it was definitely an adventure!
So those are some of the highlights from this semester so far! I cannot believe it is so close to being over...seriously it's not possible how fast this semester has flown by. Slow down, PLEASE?! I just keep reminding myself of the quote "Come what may and love it." I can't choose what happens to me, but I can choose how I react and I choose to be happy with whatever comes my way. Well, that's all for now. Hopefully you will hear from me soon!
